I work, and so effectively live, in the digital space, specifically in software engineering, so a paper-based system really doesn't help capture my daily minutiae which is largely comprised of things like URLs, code snippets, and other fragments of digital information. NotePlan finally seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle for me. I'm not in anyway affiliated with either, but I'm a huge nerd for productivity systems, and also into mindfulness and stoic philosophy, but had yet to find a system that brought everything together.

The new checklist feature is perfect for taking a larger regular task and putting the subtasks underneath as a checklist. That means checklist items won’t show up in filters. But they don’t count towards your open task.

As a reminder: regular tasks are created by typing “*”.Ĭhecklist items can be completed, canceled, and scheduled. You can add a checklist item by pressing “+”, space, and then typing your to-do. Checklist items tasks have a box, tasks a circle.
